Here is a brief overview of the beautiful land we call home. Occasionally we work with competitive trail ride organizations to host events out at the ranch. We believe that participating in competitive trail ride events can be very educational for both horse and rider. You never know what can happen out on the trail so being prepared for all of life’s obstacles will keep you one step ahead of the game.
Trail overview
On the southern edge of the hill country lies a small town, Utopia, in which just under 300 people reside. The landscape consists of striking limestone canyon lands that spill into the southern plains. The green hills are covered in oak, cedar, and sotol which yield to golden grasslands and lush arroyos. These lead to the beautiful west Sabinal river and its tributaries, which are flanked by tall cypress and pecan trees. Bountiful wildlife and the birds are always singing.
Our trails have been designed to wind through the hills where cedar forests will take you up to breathtaking views. The terrain is primarily rocky, so shoes are recommended for horses. With miles of trail you’ll get to experience all the beauty that these hills have to offer.
